Cupping & Tension Relief

A focused session for tension that has settled in and stayed — shoulders, back, and everything that comes with holding yourself together.

What it is

A consultation and cupping treatment in one visit, for when the thing you want addressed is muscular rather than systemic. I use glass cups with suction to draw on the tissue underneath, which most people describe as a deep, dragging pull rather than pressure.

This is a shorter, more targeted appointment than a full Chinese medicine consultation. If it becomes clear during your session that there’s a wider picture worth looking at, I’ll say so.

Who it’s for

Tight shoulders and upper back from desk work or carrying children. Post-training soreness. Long-held tension that massage helps for a day and then returns. And people who have come looking for cupping specifically, because they’ve had it before or seen it, and want to try it properly.

What to expect

A short conversation about where the tension is and how long it’s been there, then the treatment itself, usually on your back and shoulders. Cupping commonly leaves round marks — they aren’t bruises in the usual sense and they aren’t painful, but they can last from a few days to a couple of weeks. Worth knowing if you have a wedding or a holiday coming up; tell me and we’ll plan around it.
