Your practitioner…
I’m Charlotte — most people call me Charlie. I’m an acupuncturist and the founder of Alchemē: BSc (Hons) in TCM Acupuncture, LicAc, with a postgraduate diploma in Fertility & Obstetrics.
I set up this practice because of a gap I kept seeing. Women who’d been told their results were normal while privately certain something wasn’t. Women handed a statistic instead of a plan. Women who wanted to prepare properly for something rather than hope it worked out, and couldn’t find anyone willing to spend an hour working out what “properly” meant for them.
I treat a wide range of concerns: hormonal and menstrual health, fertility and pregnancy, postpartum recovery, stress, anxiety and burnout, sleep, digestion, skin health, headaches, pain and long-term fatigue. Most people arrive with more than one of these at once, which is usually the point — they’re rarely separate problems, and treating them separately is often why nothing has shifted.
A lot of what I see sits around the menstrual cycle and the hormonal picture behind it. Periods that are painful, heavy, irregular, or have changed without explanation. PMS and perimenopause. The years of preparing for pregnancy, going through one, and recovering afterwards. Some women come to me while they’re actively trying — sometimes after a loss, sometimes after a run of appointments where the timeline was the only thing anyone wanted to discuss. Others come long before any of that is on the table, because they’d rather understand their cycle, their hormones and their stress levels now than meet them under pressure later on. Both are good reasons to be here.
However you arrive, the approach is the same. Time and attention first, treatment second: an hour to lay the whole thing out, and then a plan that treats it as one connected picture, because that’s what it is. Traditional Chinese medicine is the foundation of how I work. An evidence-informed understanding of the body is what keeps it honest. No manufactured urgency, no packages you didn’t ask for, and no promises I can’t stand behind.
The studio is on a farm in Offchurch, just outside Leamington Spa. It’s quiet, it’s unhurried, and it suits the work.
